the cacao used in this bar was ethically sourced from Hacienda Jesus Maria cacao farm in Tabasco region of Mexico via MABCO. We pay the farmers premium prices in an effort to adequately compensate farmers’ labour, support local infrastructure, and encourage sustainable growth.

Hacienda Jesus Maria is a 70-hectare farm with 50 hectares of cacao. Farmer Vicente Alberto Gutierrez Cacep employs the best farming and processing practices while supporting community initiatives and local businesses. 1917 – the house is built as an agricultural farm. 1966 – Juan Cacep Peralta starts processing the harvested cacao into paste. 1987 – Mrs. Rosa Maria Cacep Peralta with her son Mr. Vicente Alberto Gutierrez Cacep start producing chocolate from Tabasco to the world.
